Pioneer DJ DJM-S5 at a glance With the DJM-S5, Pioneer DJ expands its DVS battle mixer series with a model featuring innovative capabilities. The design is inspired by the flagship DJM-S11 and enables seamless use of up to 57 effects in Serato DJ Pro, including optional paid FX Expansion Packs. Each deck is equipped with four performance pads, offering versatile control over features such as cue points, roll, auto-loop, sampler, gate cue, cue loop, saved loop, and scratch bank - even across two instances. Additionally, the DJM-S5 provides a 3-band equalizer per channel as well as separate low- and high-pass filters for precise sound control. The integrated Magvel Fader Pro crossfader is fully customisable: users can adjust its resistance to suit their preferences via a front-panel knob. A notable innovation is the USB-C slot, which powers the mixer when connected to a computer. Alternatively, the DJM-S5 can function as an analogue standalone mixer for CD players or turntables with the help of an optional USB power adapter. This model combines flexibility, premium build quality, and cutting-edge technology, making it appealing to both beginner and professional DJs alike. Effect control levers Two large effect levers can be used to control up to 57 effects in Serato DJ Pro (including the optional and paid Serato DJ Pro Expansion Packs). The levers are the same size as those on the DJM-S11. To turn the effect on or off, you either hold them down or release them. To keep your hands free to browse or scratch tracks, there is a lock function that locks the lever in place.
