The Gibson Peter Frampton "Phenix" Inspired Les Paul Custom Ebony is all about Peter Frampton's legendary Les Paul Custom as seen on the cover of the record-breaking 1976 live album Frampton Comes Alive! In the tradition of the iconic instrument with spectacular history, the LP Custom offers all the appointments of the role model and comes up with some personalized features of the exceptional musician. Classic construction of the LP Custom The body of the Gibson Peter Frampton "Phenix" Inspired Les Paul Custom Ebony is made of extra lightweight mahogany with arched top and features a 9-hole weight relief to get as close as possible to the weight point of the original. The body is finished in classic LP custom fashion with multi-ply body binding and a fine Ebony finish. For the left hand, the instrument features a Peter Frampton Phenix neck profile modeled after the real Phenix, which creates ideal conditions for Peter's expressive lead playing. Three Custom bucker and paper-in-oil capacitors For the cultivated Frampton sound three in the Gibson Custom Shop Custom Bucker humbuckers. Just like the original, the pickups with Alnico III magnets have no caps and offer extensive tonal possibilities. The neck and bridge positions are controlled classically via a 3-way toggle and common volume and tone controls, while the mid pickup has separate volume and treble blend controls. The Treble roll-off happens here via true-to-original Paper-in-Oil capacitors. Custom Hardware with classic styling The hardware equipment of the Gibson Peter Frampton "Phenix" Inspired Les Paul Custom Ebony also follows the functional setup of the Phenix and equips the instrument perfectly for professional use. Proven Schaller Security Locks are used for absolute security on the strap, while the resonant combination of Tune-o-Matic bridge and lightweight aluminum stopbar ensures direct sound transmission into the body. Completing the hardware equipment in the uniform VOS Gold finish are six Grover tuners with traditional kidney pianos. Last but not least, Gibson gives the instrument Peter Frampton's sandblasted signature in the block inlay at the 12th fret as an additional personalized highlight.
