As a key component of Casady's unmistakable bass sound, his Epiphone Signature Bass combines traditional semi-hollow elements with a JCB-1 low-impedance humbucker and a sophisticated passive electric system, which can be used to achieve amazingly multi-faceted timbres. A comfortably playable "C" neck and indestructible Hardware complete the features of the Jack Casady Fretless Bass Aged Royal Tan from the Epiphone Original Collection. The Epiphone Jack Casady Fretless Bass Aged Royal Tan was developed together with the bassist of Jefferson Airplane and convinces with characterful sounds and comfortable handling. The maple body of the Jack Casady bass is built with a stabilizing center block and is glued to the comfortable neck. Semi-Hollow Bass with long scale length A classic semi-hollow construction with a full 34" long scale length (864 mm) creates the basis for the woody and resonant yet precisely articulated sound character of the Jack Casady Signature bass. The body with top, back and sides made of multi-layer maple laminate is stabilized by a solid center block to prevent feedback at high volumes without affecting the sound. The strong "1960s Rounded" profile of the glued mahogany neck also sits comfortably in the hand, so that even tricky basslines can be played with ease on the 20-fret Indian Laurel fingerboard. A JCB-1 low-impedance pickup and the passive electrics with VariGain switch promise surprisingly multifaceted sound colors.
