The RME 12Mic-D is the manufacturer's first microphone preamp designed for integration into DANTE networks. Accordingly it has 2 network ports with Neutrik Ethercon connectors (primary and secondary) as well as MADI connections via the optical interface or BNC connectors. Additionally, thanks to its three ADAT outputs, it can serve as a pure converter for any interface. The word clock pair is then used for synchronization. Due to the multiple redundant connection options, the RME 12Mic is also perfectly suited for live applications. Any signal arriving at the 12Mic can be output with fixed latency either via ADAT or the network. The built-in USB port is used for firmware updates as well as remote application.
