In keeping with tradition, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a mahogany body with a maple top and a set mahogany neck with a more powerful "chunky C-shape". With two Gibson Custombucker pickups and the hand-wired circuitry, the electric guitar furthermore delivers first-class vintage sounds whose character can hardly be distinguished from the legendary PAFs. Last but not least, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard VOS Bourbon Burst features authentic Hardware in the form of a No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners. Accordingly, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a one-piece mahogany body with a correct plain maple top, while the mahogany neck is glued with a long neck foot and carries a fingerboard made of Indian rosewood. The use of glass-hard hide-glue guarantees optimum sound development across the entire instrument. The authentic playing feel is further ensured by the strong "Chunky C-Shape" neck profile together with the 12" fingerboard radius and the narrow frets.
