Compact basswood body meets maple neck For the construction of the Wolfgang Special QM Caramelized Maple, Eddie van Halen relies on tried-and-true ingredients for a rock guitar, having the body made of basswood with an applied top of cloud maple, while the bolt-on neck is made of caramelized maple and carries a 22-fret Caramelized Maple fingerboard. The combination of the compact, sweeping body, the comfortable neck profile and the compound radius of the fingerboard, which increases from 12" to 16", gives the EVH Wolfgang a comfortable feel that makes any solo, no matter how tricky, come out of your fingers with ease. The red sangria finish stands out through the cloud maple top and allows the Floyd Rose tremolo to shine.
