The signal path uses only discrete components. The microphone and line input as well as the line output are transformer-balanced and use three different transformers, each optimized for its purpose. The circuitry used in the PREQ-73 Premier is similar to the preamp and equalizer section in the classic 1073 module with a corresponding sonic character that is warm, punchy, sweet and musical. These classic characteristics can be heard on countless records and are so popular because they work in pretty much any genre. And that very essence of sound is now surprisingly affordable and available to almost anyone.
