The mahogany neck of the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue is glued to the one-piece body with hide-glue and a long neck foot. Accordingly, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a one-piece mahogany body with a correct plain maple top, while the mahogany neck is glued with a long neck foot and carries a fingerboard made of Indian rosewood. The use of glass-hard hide-glue guarantees optimum sound development across the entire instrument. The strong "chunky C-shape" neck profile together with the 12" fingerboard radius and the narrow frets also ensure an authentic playing feel.
