If you're looking for classic tube sound paired with phenomenal preamp gain and a great signal-to-noise ratio, you can't go past the API Select T12. All features at a glance The API Select T12 is a high-end all-tube preamp with two channels. It can be used for microphone signals as well as for direct connection of instruments via the Hi-Z connector. For the inputs, a 180° phase rotation, 48V phantom power and a -20dB pad are switchable. There is also a three-stage low-cut (60,120 & 240Hz) available and variable input impedance. Like all pots, the preamp gain and output trim control (level) are detented, so settings from previous sessions can be quickly restored. Meter Control Two high-quality VU meters display the output level per channel. A red LED lamp indicates when the peak of +18dBu is exceeded. This way you get an additional warning from the unit in case of overloads.
