Thorens - TD 1601, walnut high gloss at a glance The TD 1601 represents a sophisticated evolution of the TD 1600, with a particular focus on enhanced ease of use. Although outwardly similar to the TD 1600 with its distinctive wood paneling, two-piece platter, internal running belt, thick rubber pad and carefully controlled motor, as well as arm board and acrylic cover, inside it offers numerous innovations and additional ease of use. Instead of being attached to the top board, the three springs of the sub-chassis rest on the floor. A taut steel wire extending from the motor pulley to the platter axle prevents sideways tilting, ensuring cylindrical movement of the subchassis, especially during take-off when the motor is most stressed and the belt pulls on the side. As additional features, the TD 1601 offers an electric lift that can be operated at the push of a button, a contactless limit switch and fully symmetrical connections.
