With a body made entirely of mahogany, the S2 Vela Semi Hollow produces a warm midrange tone that benefits from the airy character of the resonance chamber. The neck, also made of mahogany, features a balanced Pattern Regular back shape and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, providing the classic PRS feel. The pickups consist of a PRS DS 01 humbucker at the bridge and a Narrowfield humbucker at the neck. Thanks to the push/pull function of the tone control, both humbuckers can also be operated in coil split mode, allowing the PRS S2 Vela Semi Hollow to deliver clear, wiry single coil sounds when required.
