As such, it not only provides the sought-after larger-than-life sound of the vintage amplifier circuitry, but combines it with the superior signal-to-noise ratio, clarity and depth of modern studio equipment. In addition to the input impedance selection familiar from the 1073, the MP-500NV also features a load switch to compensate for the resonant behavior of the output transformer. This gives the possibility to choose between two basic characteristics: Either you get a sound as linear as possible with the lowest possible distortion factor or you let the transformer oscillate freely, so that the treble band, similar to an air EQ, is raised subtly and the midrange is roughened significantly.
