Inspired by an original model from 1962 that was passed down through generations and was once played by Marcus King's grandfather, father and finally himself, this signature model brings the King family's musical heritage to the stage. As a modern re-release of its custom store role model, the guitar comes with authentic features that Marcus King himself describes as essential. This ES-345 not only reflects the characteristic look of Marcus' main guitar, but also delivers exactly the versatility, warmth and assertiveness you would expect from a professional blues and soul machine. Body In terms of sound, the Marcus King ES-345 is built on the solid foundation of the typical semi-hollow construction: the three-ply maple/poplar/maple body in combination with the solid center block offers an excellent sound. The striking sixties cherry finish, refined with a 3-ply cream binding, gives the guitar a strong vintage charm and makes the instrument a real eye-catcher on any stage. The combination of Indian rosewood fingerboard, rounded mahogany neck with comfortable C-profile and 22 frets invites expressive playing and guarantees comfortable handling. A matching hardshell case is also included. Gibson Custombucker At the heart of the ES-345 are two Custombuckers that authentically reproduce Marcus King's tonal spectrum - from velvety-soft jazz chords to powerful blues leads. The pickups are hand-wired with classic Orange Drop capacitors, which not only ensures an open basic character, but also a sensitive response to volume and tone settings. The classic 2-volume/2-tone layout enables intuitive handling and a wide range of tonal colors, while the mono wiring guarantees direct, unadulterated signal routing. Hardware The fixed Vibrola tailpiece with a special cover dedicated to Marcus King is rounded off by an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge. For robust tuning, high-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners with classic kidney buttons are available, which, in combination with the Graph Tech saddle, ensure precise tuning even with dynamic playing behavior. The gold-plated Hardware underlines the elegant look and boutique character of this signature model.
