The shells, each eight-ply thick, were glued together using DW's proprietary HVXconstruction method for a deep fundamental with powerful projection. Remo-made heads are held in place by triple-flanged steel hoops on the 45° shell ridges. So that the two suspended toms can also develop their sound in the best possible way, they are held free-swinging by DW's suspension Tom mounts. DW Shell Set in Chrome Shadow The Set includes two Bass Brums that provide the distinctive double bass sound and offer you maximum versatility for your performances. The Maple shells feature the usual excellent DW quality, with precise attack and sustain characteristics and an impressive depth of sound. The True Pitch tension screws allow precise fine tuning of the drums and ensure consistent tuning stability. This allows the DW Performance Shell set to always be optimally adapted to personal preferences and specific musical style. DW Finish Ply: A unique concept DW's Finish Ply concept considers the outer ply of foil as part of the sound-producing shell construction. This high-quality foil ply in Chrome Shadow is pulled through to the top and bottom edges of the shell and even burrs like a wood ply. In addition, this foil layer optimises the skin support by preventing the skin rings from grinding against the shell by a small overhang, allowing them to vibrate completely freely.
