Birch Drum Shells & Y.E.S.S Tom Mounting-System The shells in this set are made of 100 % birch, a type of wood known for its short decay, fast response and compact sound with fine definition. The Absolut Lugs with internal locking mechanism ensure optimum performance of the shells, guaranteeing efficient and reliable tuning of the drums and preventing unintentional loosening of the tension bolts. Furthermore, the rubber-backed shell hardware and the rubberized Bassdrum claws minimize unwanted vibrations and thus further improve the performance of the individual drums. A natural, crystal-clear tom sound is guaranteed by the Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System, Y.E.S.S for short, which minimizes the vibration transmission of the Toms .
